WHOA President to Speak at Women in Technology Meeting

Working to Halt Online Abuse announced today that its president, Jayne Hitchcock will speak at the Women in Technology Meeting at the Pyramids Main Campus, located on Oak Branch Dr. in Greensboro, N.C. on Tuesday, January 29 at 9:15 a.m. Hitchcock will also be available for interviews as a cybercrimes expert on January 28 and 29. Hitchcock's qualifications make her one of the foremost experts in cybercrimes, this new field of criminal activity.
Hitchcock is the president of WHOA, the *only* organization to have concrete cyberstalking statistics, a *current* list of states with/without cyberstalking or related laws, online and offline safety tips and much more. WHOA is an all-volunteer organization of people from around the world who help online victims.
Hitchcock is also the author of Net Crimes & Misdemeanors, scheduled for release in May 2002. She lectures and trains law enforcement nationwide in how to track down cyberstalkers and work with victims; has helped pass related legislation in several states, including Maryland (the first state in the country to pass such a law), Rhode Island, California, New Hampshire and Maine. She has appeared in national media including TIME magazine (7/2/01 issue), The Montel Williams Show, USA Today, 48 Hours, A&E Investigative Reports, Family Circle, Ladies Home Journal, Glamour magazine, ABC Nightly News, CBS Evening News, Good Morning America, Inside Edition, and Los Angeles Times.
