R.V. Ramani

Ramani has over 26 years of experience in Information Security. Having spent most of his youth in the Indian navy as a Communications and Electronic Warfare Officer, Ramani is presently the Principal Security Consultant of an IT Security firm based in the Middle East. He is responsible for a number of IT Security offerings to various clients in the region. He is also a security trainer for Certified Information Security Manager/Certified Information Systems Auditor aspirants.

During his tenure in the Navy, he has commanded warships and has been closely associated with all aspects of Information warfare. He has been responsible for maintaining large networks and has had extensive hands on experience with all things that are security related.

After leaving the navy, Ramani advised Indian police on cyber crime and helped to establish a group which deals with cyberstalking, online harassment and other crimes.

Ramani is presently pursuing at doctorate in cyber crime through Madras University in Chennai, India. A CISM, Ramani is also the Secretary for Information Systems and Audit Control Association chapter in formation in the Middle East. Off working hours he likes to read. His favorite book is Catch 22 by Joseph Heller. He swears that whatever happens in the world is in accordance with this book!
