WHOA President Jayne A. Hitchcock is available to speak about cybercrimes, online harassment and cyberstalking. She has several presentations available, targeted to specific audiences, or one can be tailor-made for your needs.

Travel expenses and an honorarium are worked out between Jayne and the organization/group beforehand (she is quite reasonable compared to other speakers/lecturers). For information on available dates and fees, please contact her.

(Do NOT e-mail Jayne with online harassment complaints - you will not get a reply. If you are being harassed or stalked online, go immediately to our What to do if you're being harassed page for instructions.)

The Wild, Wild Web: Keeping Up With The Cyber Generation
WARNING: This is an Internet "Scared Straight" presentation - I have two alter egos on Facebook who see how many students accept them as a friend - 50 are asked to be friends. I go through each profile and collate how many put too much information in their profiles, such as cell phone, home phone, home address and where they work. I do NOT show student names or faces on photos (faces are blacked out). I also show how profiles are publicly available if they do not change their privacy settings. I have references available to show that this shocks the students into making changes to stay safer online. If you do NOT want photos shown during this presentation, you MUST tell me when you book me.

  • PowerPoint presentation offering advice on how to protect children, yourself and your family online, what types of online crimes exist, and what to do if a child or family member has been harassed, bullied or stalked online
  • Cyberbullying statistics and sample case
  • How to check web browser caches/history
  • Net filtering/monitoring software
  • Online predators; includes short video
  • Social networking sites such as Facebook
  • IM safety
  • Sexting statistics and safety including cell phone monitoring software
  • "Leetspeak"
  • Question and answer session
  • Brochure handout with tips and advice, online resources
If your school will allow it (and is within driving distance), I'll bring Phoebe, our official mascot for the Kids/Teen Division. She is very friendly and barks on command. And she can be petted after the presentation.
