A trail of ham led police to the suspect's door after a burglary at a butcher's shop in Germany.
The man allegedly smashed a shop window in Hamburg to get into the butcher's shop.
Police arrived at the scene to find several pieces of ham lying in front of the broken glass.
Footprints and more ham pieces led them to a nearby house.
When they rang the bell, a 26-year-old man, already known to police for similar offences, opened the door.
The Hamburger Morgenpost newspaper reports the man was taken to a nearby police station but hasn't yet been formally charged.
